## In light of the humanitarian emergency caused by the earthquakes in Venezuela
|
||||
|
||||
The **Kingdom of Peace and Justice Center**, through its president, **Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos**, expresses its profound consternation over the tragedy the Venezuelan people are experiencing as a result of the devastating earthquakes that have claimed hundreds of lives, injured thousands and displaced a significant number of people. In these hours of grief, thousands of families are in urgent need of medical assistance, search and rescue, food, potable water, shelter, and humanitarian support.

|
||||
In the face of a catastrophe of this magnitude, international solidarity constitutes a moral duty of the entire community of nations. Throughout history, search and rescue teams, medical personnel, firefighters, engineers, emergency specialists, and thousands of volunteers from the United States of America have played a fundamental role in numerous humanitarian operations around the world. In the current Venezuelan emergency, multiple American teams and resources have already been mobilized to assist in relief efforts.
|
||||
|
||||
However, numerous United States citizens who wish to travel to Venezuela to volunteer are facing difficulties due to the current immigration and visa requirements for entry into the country.
|
||||
|
||||
Therefore, **Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos** makes a respectful and urgent call:
|
||||
|
||||
**To the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela**, that, on an exceptional and strictly humanitarian basis, it may order the temporary suspension of visa requirements for United States citizens who certify their participation in aid, search and rescue missions, medical assistance, reconstruction or any other humanitarian work related to the present emergency.
|
||||
|
||||
Likewise, we urge Venezuelan authorities to establish a swift and specialized mechanism to facilitate the swift entry of volunteers, humanitarian organizations, and specialized personnel, always prioritizing the protection of human life.
|
||||
|
||||
Likewise, a respectful call is made to the **Secretary of State of the United States of America to promote**, through diplomatic channels, the necessary arrangements with the Venezuelan authorities with the goal of facilitating this exceptional entry mechanism for United States citizens.
|
||||
|
||||
Great tragedies should become opportunities to demonstrate that compassion can prevail over political differences. When human lives are at risk, humanitarian assistance must be allowed to overcome any administrative obstacle.
|
||||
|
||||
The **Kingdom of Peace and Justice Center** reaffirms its commitment to the defense of human dignity, international cooperation and solidarity among peoples, and invites all governments, international organizations and civil society entities to join efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Venezuelan people and to accelerate rescue, relief and reconstruction efforts.

# Comunicado del Centro del Reino de Paz y Justicia

## Ante la emergencia humanitaria provocada por los terremotos en Venezuela
|
||||
|
||||
El **Centro del Reino de Paz y Justicia**, por medio de su presidente, el **Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos**, expresa su profunda consternación por la tragedia que atraviesa el pueblo venezolano como consecuencia de los devastadores terremotos que han causado centenares de víctimas fatales, miles de heridos y un enorme número de personas damnificadas. En estas horas de dolor, miles de familias requieren con urgencia asistencia médica, búsqueda y rescate, alimentos, agua potable, refugio y apoyo humanitario.
|
||||
|
||||
Frente a una catástrofe de esta magnitud, la solidaridad internacional constituye un deber moral de toda la comunidad de naciones. A lo largo de la historia, los equipos de búsqueda y rescate, el personal médico, los bomberos, los ingenieros, los especialistas en emergencias y miles de voluntarios de los Estados Unidos de América han desempeñado un papel fundamental en numerosas operaciones humanitarias alrededor del mundo. En la actual emergencia venezolana, múltiples equipos y recursos estadounidenses ya han sido movilizados para colaborar en las tareas de asistencia.
|
||||
|
||||
Sin embargo, numerosos ciudadanos estadounidenses que desean viajar a Venezuela para colaborar de manera voluntaria enfrentan dificultades derivadas de los requisitos migratorios y de visado que actualmente rigen para el ingreso al país.
|
||||
|
||||
Por ello, el **Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos** formula un respetuoso y urgente llamamiento:
|
||||
|
||||
Al **Gobierno de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela**, para que, con carácter excepcional y estrictamente humanitario, disponga la suspensión temporal de los requisitos de visado para los ciudadanos estadounidenses que acrediten su participación en misiones de ayuda, búsqueda y rescate, asistencia médica, reconstrucción o cualquier otra labor humanitaria vinculada a la presente emergencia.
|
||||
|
||||
Asimismo, exhortamos a las autoridades venezolanas a establecer un mecanismo ágil y extraordinario que permita el ingreso expedito de voluntarios, organizaciones humanitarias y personal especializado, priorizando siempre la protección de la vida humana.
|
||||
|
||||
De igual manera, hace un respetuoso llamado al **Secretario de Estado de los Estados Unidos de América** para que impulse, por la vía diplomática, las gestiones necesarias ante las autoridades venezolanas con el propósito de facilitar este mecanismo excepcional de ingreso para los ciudadanos estadounidenses.

||||
|
||||
Las grandes tragedias deben convertirse en oportunidades para demostrar que la compasión puede prevalecer sobre las diferencias políticas. Cuando hay vidas humanas en riesgo, la ayuda humanitaria debe abrirse paso por encima de cualquier obstáculo administrativo.
|
||||
|
||||
El **Centro del Reino de Paz y Justicia** reafirma su compromiso con la defensa de la dignidad humana, la cooperación internacional y la solidaridad entre los pueblos, e invita a todos los gobiernos, organizaciones internacionales y entidades de la sociedad civil a unir esfuerzos para aliviar el sufrimiento del pueblo venezolano y acelerar las tareas de rescate, asistencia y reconstrucción.
